DISCOVERING GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE (Part 2)

       HOME OF ARTICLE

The purpose in a man’s mind is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.
” (Proverbs 20:5 RSV)

You are perfectly cut out for something unique and specific in life. There is something that only you can do perfectly in life. This is your purpose in life. God specifically created you for a particular or unique purpose in life.

You cannot fully enjoy or maximize your life without discovering and committing yourself to fulfill God’s purpose for creating you as a unique person. Sadly, many people today are completely ignorant of why God created them to be unique or different from any other person.

In the first part of this piece, we began to consider how you can discover and understand God’s unique or specific purpose for your life. Let us now continue.

First, Seek God with all your heart.

When you find and connect with God, you will find and connect with your purpose because God is the author and designer of your purpose in life.

Without a loving and intimate relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ, your purpose in life will remain a mirage to you. But your purpose in life will become more apparent to you as you enjoy a deep and regular communion with God in prayer and the study of God’s Word (Jer. 1:5, Gal. 1:15, Jer. 33:3).

Second, Offer yourself to God as a living sacrifice.

You must yield yourself unreservedly, entirely, and continuously to God to discover and understand God’s unique purpose for your life. Without a willing mind to respond promptly and positively to whatever God says, commands, or reveals to you, it may be challenging to discover and fulfill God’s purpose for your life.

The Lord Jesus said, “If anyone wants to do His will, he shall know…” (John 7:17 NKJV).

You will undoubtedly know if you are genuinely willing to fulfill God’s purpose!

Third, Discover your uniqueness in life.

There is nobody on earth who is ideally like you in every way. You are a unique and peculiar person. Your uniqueness is a significant clue or pointer to your purpose in life.

You are on your way to discovering your unique purpose when you find out who you are, what is unique about you, or what makes you different from any other person. There is something unique in you or about you; discover it, and your purpose will become apparent (Psa. 139:14)!

Fourth, Recognize your undying passion.

Deep down within you lies a unique and robust passion, interest, desire, love, or zeal for your unique purpose in life.

God deliberately placed an undying passion, desire, or zeal for your purpose in your heart so that you might enjoy doing it every day without getting bored or giving up despite the opposition you may face.

Proverbs 20:5 – RSV

5 The purpose in a man’s mind is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.

The clue to your purpose is the deep, godly, undying passion, desire, love, or interest for something that glorifies God and blesses humanity within you.

No life challenge, suffering, trial, or tribulation can drown, submerge, or quench your unique passion, desire, or interest in what God has created you to accomplish on earth.

Therefore, if you can recognize the godly passion, desire, or interest in yourself that has survived and outlived all the pressures, trials, or challenges of life that have confronted you in the past, you are not too far from your real purpose in life (Acts 7:23-25).

Follow the unquenchable divine passion, desire, interest, or zeal within you, and it will lead you to your divine purpose.

Fifth, Identify the supernatural abilities or tools in your life.

God has furnished, equipped, and enabled you with supernatural abilities or tools that you will need to accomplish your God-ordained purpose in life without stress or sweat.

These supernatural tools are your talents, gifts, or potential. God will be unjust or wicked to call you to accomplish something that you are not naturally talented or spiritually gifted (Eph. 2:10).

You already have a unique talent, gift, potential, or unction you need to fulfill your unique purpose in life. Therefore, if you can identify the tools God has already equipped or furnished you with, placing or recognizing the works to do with them will not be difficult.

Your God-given potential is a direct pointer to your God-ordained purpose in life. God gives us talents, gifts, or divine abilities as He wills or according to His purpose (1 Cor. 12:11). Discover the divine ability God has given you, and it will point you to the divine purpose or mission God has given you.

Many believers today are ignorant or confused about their purpose in life because they don’t know or believe that God has already prepared, equipped, furnished, or enabled them to accomplish what He has called them to do for His glory and the goodness of humanity.

Beloved, the truth is that God has already made you sufficient or competent for the divine purpose He has called you to accomplish. However, you are not sufficient or competent in yourself but in God, who has given or blessed you with all you need to accomplish the divine work or assignment He has given you to do (2 Cor. 3:5).

Therefore, Apostle Paul writes that God “has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not in a written code but the Spirit; for the written code kills, but the Spirit gives life.” (2 Cor. 3:6 RSV).

Therefore, when you discover what God has made you sufficient or competent to do, you have found your purpose in life.

Sixth, Consult and Check with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is your divine partner and helper in discovering and fulfilling God’s purpose for your life. The Holy Spirit perfectly understands what God has created and called you to do. Therefore, He is the perfect consultant or adviser to consult regarding your purpose (1 Cor. 2:9-10).

Paul writes, “For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:11 NKJV).

Although the Holy Spirit is the perfect consultant for purpose, you will remain ignorant or confused about your purpose if you don’t consult Him.

Therefore, to find your purpose in life, you will need to be more conscious of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in you by spending quality time praying in the Holy Spirit (praying in tongues), studying and meditating in God’s Word, and in listening to the Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20, 1 Cor. 14:2).

When you ask the Holy Spirit for your unique purpose or mission, He will reveal it to you in a way you will understand. The Holy Spirit can lead you to your purpose in God’s Word (Luke 4:17-21).

The Holy Spirit can reveal your purpose by speaking audibly to you as though someone is standing beside you, talking to you, or communicating through a small inner voice in your spirit or heart (Isa. 30:21).

Moreover, the Holy Spirit can speak to you through others by prophecy or word of knowledge (Acts 13:1-3). Also, the Holy Spirit can guide or direct you to your purpose through the witness of peace and joy He bears with your spirit (Rom. 8:16).

When you are on the right path of purpose or pursuing your real purpose in life, you will always experience the Holy Spirit’s indescribable peace and joy in your heart.

Therefore, the Scripture says, “For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace…” (Isa. 55:12 NKJV). “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts…” (Col. 3:15 NKJV).

Lastly, Serve faithfully where you are now.

You are created to serve others in love and humility. You don’t need to wait until you discover your unique purpose in life before you begin to serve faithfully and joyfully.

Moses discovered his divine purpose in life while he was serving his father-in-law. While Moses was tending Jethro’s flock, not his own, God called him into his divine purpose in life (Exo. 3:1-10).

Beloved, don’t be idle or lazy while seeking God’s purpose for your life!

The Scripture warns, “And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own? (Luke 16:12 NKJV).

Therefore, serve faithfully, diligently, lovingly, and joyfully wherever you are now while on the way to where God has called you to fulfill His divine purpose.

Prayer:

My Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me how to find my divine purpose. Dear Holy Spirit, help me not relent in seeking until I find and understand my divine calling and purpose in life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

THE PARABLE OF THE TARES OF THE FIELD (Part 1)

HOME OF ARTICLES  “ The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.” (Matthew 13:38 NKJV)   After the Lord Jesus had privately explained the parable of the Sower to His disciples, He put forth another parable about the tares of the field to the great multitude that was gathered to Him by the sea. Matthew 13:24-30 – NKJV  24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;  25 “but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.  26 “But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.  27 “So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’  28 “He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’  29 “But he said, ...

KINGDOM LIVING

HOME OF ARTICLES  E niyekpemi Fidelis Oyinpreyebi. KINGDOM LIVING There was a challenge in how the disciples understood the presence of God to be. They had a terrible reverence for that presence. - The presence that killed Aaron’s two sons (Leviticus 10:1-2) - Uzzah died when he grabbed hold of the Ark of the covenant (2 Samuel 6:6-7) - The presence that could kill the High priest if he carnally entered the Holy of Hollies. He had to take many precautions to ensure he was ritually pure and still with a back up priest in case it all goes wrong (Exodus 28:33-35) The presence had strict protocols, living that life was a dangerous one – I believe you will agree with me too. Moses gave them very specific instructions on how to approach the mountain. They could not “come as they were” but had to sanctify themselves.  They had to wear clean clothes and abstain from sexual relations. Once they got to the mountain,  they could not contact(touch anything) or they would die. - They ...
