HOW TO LIVE YOUR PAST

Before i go fully into the topic before me... I'll like to start with this piece of quote as usual:

"Past when not properly managed/lived pulls the future in part".

For a clearer view of today's topic, i will be using a story in the scripture with references to each verses as i am led.

I Samuel 12.

David miserably failed as a husband and friend when he impregnated the wife of Uriah one of his choice mighty men. After sending the husband to the front line of a battle where he was slain, David married the woman, attempting to cover up his adulterous affair (v9).

Nugget 1: when you fail to manage/live the past, you continue covering error with errors.

Eventually the Prophet Nathan pronounced a death sentence and some pay backs upon the household of David, calling it 'sword' (v10-12).

Thus, Stop covering that error anymore. Stop covering lies with lies.

Nugget 2: To every action there is an equal but opposite reaction. 

Every action of ours are seeds sown that must yield fruits. The truth is friends we'll reap what we have sown into our times called past. so live NOW wisely!!

David acknowledged his sins before God in the presence of Nathan and his death sentence was lifted.

You too can lift that burden off you. You can lift off the punishment of you past actions - if only you will change your ways.

Nugget 3: David could keep it a secret and die, but he spoke it out before the prophet.

You see that?

I have told you earlier; Your secrets are revelations of how not to do it again. Take a stand today - let him show you His covenant. Davis saw His covenant because He told the Prophet the secret.This is a dimension of 'The covenant of Life'... praise God!!

Proverbs 28:13King James Version (KJV)

13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Acknowledging the past will not take the 'pay-back', it won't because life is a process. The child died!! David spent seven days fasting on his face in the dust in intercession before God, hoping God would reverse the decision and bring life to the infant. At the conclusion of the week, David was informed the child had died.

Permit me ask this; what would have been your reaction after spending about 168 hours alone with God with just one petition on your mind and everything failed still pointing at that error i mean referring you to the past still just like David? (verse12-19).

Nugget 4: We live the past. Either we like it or not we pay for our ordeals. It's a process we must endure to enjoy. 

Instead of blaming God, cursing Him for not being good, and questioning how God could take an infant when it was the sin of its father and not the sin of the child that angered the lord, David's reaction surprised even his closest friends. He arose from the dust, washed himself and went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. (verses20-21)

Nugget 5: Learn not to dwell on the past. Your struggles and efforts cannot change the past nor make it any better only God can! In the process of newness, let the Lord take whatever He wants to take away, let Him kill within you/ empty you of all HE needs to do. Do remember when it doesnt happen your own ways God has your best interest at heart. "I wish above all things that thou prospereth............." III John1:2 KJV.

For brevity.... laughing out Loud' verse 24 said " and David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her; and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon; and the Lord loved him."

David managed his past(verses22-23) and he avoided bis future in part! 

When you comfort yourself and follow the due process of healing, you have a Solomon for every dead child.

My prayers and wish is that after you read through this, you will be graced to birth a Solomon out of your past.
