THE BESTSELLER OF ALL TIME

HOME OF ARTICLES

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT

Have you ever wondered why the Bible remains the world’s best-selling book?

It is simply because the Bible is nothing short of a wonder. Its formation, unification, content, age, sale, interest, language, and preservation are wonders.

Though a collection of 66 books written by about 40 different human authors over 1600 years in different places, there are no contradictions in the Bible. It has just one primary theme, Jesus Christ, for they are all written by the Holy Spirit’s inspiration.

The Bible amply testifies to its divine source and inspiration.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 – NLT

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

2 Peter 1:20-21 – NKJV

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,

21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Although the Bible has been the most hated of all books, it is the most widely read book by all classes, nations, peoples, and ages of humankind.

Many kings, rulers, and governments have sought to burn and abolish it, but the Bible has outlived them all. Why? Because God’s Word endures forever (Isa. 40:8, 1 Pet. 1:25).

Consider some fundamental truths about this unique book of wonders, the Bible.

First, the Bible is written by the inspiration of God.

The Bible does not only contain the words of God. It also includes the words of men and even the words of Satan; nevertheless, all Scripture is God-breathed, given by divine inspiration, and thus infallible or inerrant (2 Tim. 3:16, Psalm . 19:7-9).

Second, the Bible is a Supernatural and Dynamic Revelation from God.

The Bible is the sourcebook of our knowledge of God. It is the textbook of divine truths. The Bible pages authoritatively reveal God’s nature, character, will, plans, and purposes in written form.

The Bible is God’s revealed thoughts, views, or perspectives on every subject, issue, or matter. Therefore, the Bible is the standard, index, or plumb line for judging or determining the truth about every subject, issue, or matter in life (John 5:39, 45-47, 17:17).

Third, the Real Author of the Bible is the Holy Spirit.

Though written by 36-40 authors over 1600 years in different parts of the world, the Holy Spirit is the real author of the Bible.

The Holy Spirit overshadowed the human authors of the Bible; they wrote at His command. He guarded each thought, phrase, and word to preserve accuracy (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:20-21).

Fourth, the Cardinal Theme of the Bible is Jesus Christ.

The Old Testament is the preparation and prophecy about Christ’s coming. The four Gospels are His manifestation to the world. In the Epistles, His Gospel is expounded. In Revelation, God’s plans and purposes in and through Christ are consummated (John 1:1-18, Rev. 1:1-3).

Jesus Christ is the primary key to understanding the Bible. All the Scriptures testify of Jesus, bear witness to Jesus, and point to Jesus Christ (Luke 24:25-27, John 1:1-18, 45, 5:39, 46).

Fifth, the Bible is the Supreme Book and Final Authority on all Matters.

The Bible excels over all other books ever written. It provides divine and correct answers to all the questions of life and death. It is the oldest Book; its influence upon nations and men is beyond computation. The Bible is God’s standard of judgment on the last day (John 12:48).

Sixth, the Bible is the Third Greatest Gift of God to Mankind.

Next to the gift of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, the Bible is God’s third greatest gift to humankind (Exo. 24:12, John 20:30-31, Psalm . 68:11).

The brilliant German scholar and philosopher Immanuel Kant said, The existence of the Bible, as a book for the people, is the greatest benefit the human race has ever experienced. Every attempt to belittle it is a crime against humanity.”

Seventh, the Bible is a Library of 66 books with Scientific Accuracy.

The Bible is a collection of 66 books, divided into two main sections: The Old Testament contains 39 books, and the New Testament contains 27 books.

Written in a non-scientific age and human writers were not scientists, the Bible has scientific accuracy (Job. 26:7).

The Bible had stated this long before the earth was discovered or proven to be spherical.

Isaiah 40:21-22 – NKJV

21 Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?

22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

Though primarily written by uneducated men, the Bible is considered a literary masterpiece.

The 40th U.S. President Ronald Reagan said, “Within the covers of the Bible are the answers for all the problems men face.”

John Locke, the noted English philosopher, also writes, The Bible is one of the greatest blessings bestowed by God on the children of men. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture. It is all pure, sincere; nothing too much; nothing wanting.”

What do you say about the Bible?

I receive and celebrate the Bible as a beautiful gift to me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

YOU HAVE GOD’S LIFE IN YOU

HOME OF ARTICLES  “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:11-12 NKJV).   At the point of New Birth, the believers become the partakers of the very life of God—the everlasting life. Jesus said,  “ Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life .” (John 6:47 NKJV). John the Beloved testifies,  “ And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.   He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life . (1 John 5:11-12   NKJV). Everlasting life is not a future promise but a present reality, possession, or inheritance of the New Creation in Christ. The Life Jesus gives those who believe in Him is spiritual, divine, supernatural, heavenly, limitless, timeless, or everlasting. It is not inferior in any respect to the Life...

THE PARABLE OF THE TARES OF THE FIELD (Part 1)

HOME OF ARTICLES  “ The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.” (Matthew 13:38 NKJV)   After the Lord Jesus had privately explained the parable of the Sower to His disciples, He put forth another parable about the tares of the field to the great multitude that was gathered to Him by the sea. Matthew 13:24-30 – NKJV  24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;  25 “but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.  26 “But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.  27 “So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’  28 “He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’  29 “But he said, ...

KINGDOM LIVING

HOME OF ARTICLES  E niyekpemi Fidelis Oyinpreyebi. KINGDOM LIVING There was a challenge in how the disciples understood the presence of God to be. They had a terrible reverence for that presence. - The presence that killed Aaron’s two sons (Leviticus 10:1-2) - Uzzah died when he grabbed hold of the Ark of the covenant (2 Samuel 6:6-7) - The presence that could kill the High priest if he carnally entered the Holy of Hollies. He had to take many precautions to ensure he was ritually pure and still with a back up priest in case it all goes wrong (Exodus 28:33-35) The presence had strict protocols, living that life was a dangerous one – I believe you will agree with me too. Moses gave them very specific instructions on how to approach the mountain. They could not “come as they were” but had to sanctify themselves.  They had to wear clean clothes and abstain from sexual relations. Once they got to the mountain,  they could not contact(touch anything) or they would die. - They ...
