LET THE RIVERS OF LIVING WATER FLOW

         HOME OF ARTICLES

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38 NKJV)

When a weary and thirsty soul turns to the Lord Jesus Christ, he will drink the living water freely and abundantly to his satisfaction. But much more, he will never thirst again. Why?

Because the water Jesus gives will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life!

John 4:13-14 – NKJV

13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,

14 “but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

John 6:35 – NKJV

35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

The believer’s born-again spirit is entirely and eternally satisfied in Christ!

Every born-again believer has a fountain of living water springing into everlasting life in their recreated spirit. Sadly, many believers today don’t know there is a fountain of living water in them or how to appropriate or draw from it.

That is why many believers today drift or flounder from one church to another and from one miracle service to another, passionately seeking what God has already put in their recreated spirits.

The fountain of living water God has planted in your born-again spirit is not intended only for your satisfaction, to quench or satisfy the thirst of your soul and body, but also to make your life a blessing to others.

God’s ultimate plan and purpose of blessing you with the fountain of living water is to make you a blessing to many nations and generations (Gen. 12:2).

God’s desire and expectation are that you will draw from the fountain of living water in your spirit to meet your personal needs and let it flow out of you to meet the varied needs of souls around you.

That is what Jesus meant by saying, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38 NKJV).

The rivers of living water in your regenerated heart are expected to quench or satisfy the thirsty and wearied souls around you and draw them to Jesus Christ, the fountain of living water.

The overwhelming number of thirsty and wearied souls around us searching desperately for living water in artificial cisterns (religion, institution, relationship, etc.) is sufficient proof or indication that many believers today are not letting the rivers of living water within them flow out freely and abundantly to satisfy the thirsty souls.

Many thirsty and fainting souls in our generation may die of thirst while searching for living water if you continue to hold back the rivers of living water in your heart from flowing out abundantly to meet their needs.

Apostle Paul was undoubtedly one of the believers who did not hold back or contain the rivers of living water in his recreated spirit. It was not only Paul’s generation that benefited or drank from the continuous flow of the fountain of the living water within him; many generations after Paul’s age also drank from it and will continue to drink from it.

It is indeed wisdom to learn from such a man!

How did Paul let the rivers of living water flow unceasingly from his regenerated heart to bless many generations?

Paul reveals his secret in his epistle to the Galatians.

Galatians 2:20 – NKJV

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Simply by letting Christ live in him and through him!

That is all it takes to ensure a constant flow of the rivers of living water!

To let the rivers of living water flow constantly, consistently, and continuously out of your born-again spirit does not require much work or effort.

What does it require?

It only requires you to be dead to self and alive to God!

For the rivers of living water to flow uninterruptedly out of your heart, you must die and give way for the fountain, Christ Jesus, to live in and through you.

That is the only condition or requirement!

Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for sin on the cross died and was resurrected with Christ.

Paul presents this truth in his epistle to the Romans.

Romans 6:3-5 – NKJV

3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?

4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.

Like Paul, if you are born-again, you also have been crucified with Christ.

Galatians 5:24 – NKJV

24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Colossians 3:3 – NKJV

3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Why are the rivers of living water not flowing out unceasingly from your heart like that of Paul?

It is not mere head knowledge or mental assent of your death or crucifixion with Christ that is needed!

You need to walk in the revelation knowledge of this spiritual truth.

Until the Holy Spirit supplies the revelation knowledge of your death and resurrection with Christ, you cannot walk in the reality and blessing of this spiritual truth.

Beloved, if you desire to see the rivers of living water flow out constantly or uninterruptedly from your heart to be a great blessing to many generations and nations, you must seek to have and walk in the revelation knowledge of your death and resurrection with Christ.

This truth must translate from mere knowledge in your head to a revelation in your heart that will affect and transform your mind, will, thoughts, mindsets, emotions, perception, vision, values, attitudes, or character in life.

Self is the greatest impediment, obstacle, or blockage to the constant flow of the rivers of living water from your born-again spirit to be a blessing to others.

The rivers of living water in your born-again spirit are not flowing freely and incessantly as God intended simply because you are still self-driven, self-focused, self-inclined, self-centered, self-pleasing, and self-dependent.

The rivers of living water will begin to flow freely and unceasingly from your heart as you learn to reckon yourself to be dead indeed to sin and self, but alive to God in Christ Jesus (Romans. 6:11).

As you yield to the Holy Spirit, you will see the rivers of living water flowing out increasingly from your heart to bless the people around you.

Friend, let Christ live in you and through you daily. You will see the rivers of living water flowing out from your heart unceasingly and increasingly, making your life a continuous channel of blessings to many nations and generations.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for planting a fountain of living water in my heart. I want to see the rivers of living water in my regenerated heart flow freely, abundantly, and unceasingly to bless many nations and generations, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Our mandate is to preserve the faith of the Apostolic Generation.

YOU HAVE GOD’S LIFE IN YOU

HOME OF ARTICLES  “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:11-12 NKJV).   At the point of New Birth, the believers become the partakers of the very life of God—the everlasting life. Jesus said,  “ Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life .” (John 6:47 NKJV). John the Beloved testifies,  “ And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.   He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life . (1 John 5:11-12   NKJV). Everlasting life is not a future promise but a present reality, possession, or inheritance of the New Creation in Christ. The Life Jesus gives those who believe in Him is spiritual, divine, supernatural, heavenly, limitless, timeless, or everlasting. It is not inferior in any respect to the Life...

THE PARABLE OF THE TARES OF THE FIELD (Part 1)

HOME OF ARTICLES  “ The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.” (Matthew 13:38 NKJV)   After the Lord Jesus had privately explained the parable of the Sower to His disciples, He put forth another parable about the tares of the field to the great multitude that was gathered to Him by the sea. Matthew 13:24-30 – NKJV  24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;  25 “but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.  26 “But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.  27 “So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’  28 “He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’  29 “But he said, ...

KINGDOM LIVING

HOME OF ARTICLES  E niyekpemi Fidelis Oyinpreyebi. KINGDOM LIVING There was a challenge in how the disciples understood the presence of God to be. They had a terrible reverence for that presence. - The presence that killed Aaron’s two sons (Leviticus 10:1-2) - Uzzah died when he grabbed hold of the Ark of the covenant (2 Samuel 6:6-7) - The presence that could kill the High priest if he carnally entered the Holy of Hollies. He had to take many precautions to ensure he was ritually pure and still with a back up priest in case it all goes wrong (Exodus 28:33-35) The presence had strict protocols, living that life was a dangerous one – I believe you will agree with me too. Moses gave them very specific instructions on how to approach the mountain. They could not “come as they were” but had to sanctify themselves.  They had to wear clean clothes and abstain from sexual relations. Once they got to the mountain,  they could not contact(touch anything) or they would die. - They ...
