Marriage is the Covenant Union between two mature adults of opposite sexes for the purpose of PROCREATION, PLEASURE and MUTUAL PARTNERSHIP in the pursuit of their GOD GIVEN DESTINY.

• An Order is a group of people united in a formal way
• An order is an organized arrangement of people according to the level of priority or rank
• Order is the accurate arrangement of things in its place
• Order can simply mean Rank
• Lastly Order means Level
We learned that the blessing of God follows order. So long as things are in order, the blessings flow. In marriage and God’s favor abounds in the home, According to the Scriptures, God is number one. He is the head of the man. The man is number two: that is, the head of the woman. This means a man who wants his wife to be submissive to his authority must also be a man under Divine Authority.
1 Corinthians 11:3 NKJV
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
In the home, God expects the man to be in command. God expects him to be the leader in every way. He should be the spiritual leader. He should be able to hear from God and give guidance and direction to other members of the home. A man that cannot hear from God cannot lead his home well.
God ordained the man to be the king, the prophet and the priest in his home. He is called to govern, guide and guard the home. Being a husband is a great responsibility. With that responsibility comes the commensurate authority.
1 Timothy 3:4-5 NKJV
One who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?);
The man under God is the king in the home. As a king he provides for the home and serves as the administrator of justice bringing discipline into the home. This is why God the Father said the following words to Abraham our father:
Genesis 18:19 NKJV
For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
A child learns justice from home. The father sets the rulers of the house. He is the judge. He and the mother of the house form the judiciary and the legislature together. They create house rules based on the constitution of the kingdom of God; that is, the Bible.
In a proper Christian home the mother respects and reveres the husband and father of the home. This is why Sarah called Abraham lord. She understood that her husband was the king over the home. She deferred to him as the steward of the home. See Ephesians 5:21-24; Colossians 3:18; 1 Peter 3:1-6.
Every man will give an account of his family. As the king he ensures that the wife is cared and catered for. He sees to it that she is nourished and cherished in love by meeting her needs: Loving her unconditionally, affirming her lavishly by constant communication and giving her sense of security (by taking care of her physical, emotional and sexual needs) and providing adequate leadership by communicating a clear and compelling vision for the future driven by concrete plans.
He is also a prophet. The man should be able to hear God for his family or on behalf of his family. God spoke to Abraham concerning the future of his family. He was the steward of the family’s future with a series of definite prophetic promises for their posterity. See Genesis 12:1-3; 15:1-21.
All men should seek God on behalf of their families. This should not be left to the women. God wants to speak to the fathers of the home. Abraham heard from God concerning Sarah’s name change and Sarah did not argue because she knew she married a Man of God. See Genesis 17:1-22.
The man ought to be number two after God because he is called to be God’s mouthpiece to his family. Abraham was the guide of the family. Leading them step by step into their prophetic destiny. He took seriously the role of a husband and father as a prophet. See Genesis 20:7; 22:1-18.
The man is also a Priest. A priest is an intermediary. He is an intercessor. He prays continuously for his family. He covers them with prayers. There is nothing more powerful than when a man prays because we are praying from a position of authority and responsibility over our home. Isaac prayed for his barren wife Rebekah and she conceived. Think about that. See Genesis 25:21; 1 Timothy 2:8; 2 Timothy 1:2-4.
Proverbs 4:1-4 NKJV
Hear, my children, the instruction of a father,
And give attention to know understanding;
For I give you good doctrine:
Do not forsake my law.
When I was my father's son,
Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother,
He also taught me, and said to me:
"Let your heart retain my words;
Keep my commands, and live.
The man is number two because he is God’s liaison officer in his home. He is the one saddled by God to teach his home (mother and children) the ways of God. Therefore, he has to know the Word of God for himself in order to be able to teach or communicate it effectively to others. See Ephesians 6:4; Proverbs 22:7; Deuteronomy 4:9-10; 6:3-9; 11:18-21; Malachi 2:4-7
The man as a Priest ought to be the one who leads the prayer time and devotion at home. He should be the one serving the communion. This is why he needs to know God personally and intimately. His relationship and fellowship with God affects the whole family. Jesus is the High Priest over the home while he is a priest over the family under the authority of Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 NKJV
And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
Always remember that with great authority comes great responsibility. Marriage and fatherhood is very SERIOUS BUSINESS. All men, all husbands and all fathers will give account of their families. They will be held responsible for the outcome of their family members just as Pastors will give account for their flocks. Think about it. See Hebrews 13:17.
