BUILD ON THE ROCK,

HOME OF ARTICLES

“Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: “He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.” Luke 6:47-48 NKJV

We all are builders, whether we realize it or not. We are constantly building somebody or something. Our buildings could be our lives, children, families, homes, careers, businesses, or ministries. Although everybody is a builder, not everybody is a wise builder!

Who is a wise builder?

In the Parable of the Two Builders, the Lord Jesus reveals who a wise builder is.

Matthew 7:24-27 – NKJV

24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:

25 “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:

27 “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

From the above parable, a wise builder is the person who builds his life, home, career, business, or ministry on the rock.

What is the rock to build on?

The Scripture presents Christ Jesus to us as the Rock to build on!

“… For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.” (1 Cor. 10:4 NKJV).

“There is no God except the Lord. There is no Rock except our God.” (Psa. 18:31 ERV).

According to Jesus’ parable, a wise builder builds his house on the rock, and a foolish builder builds his house on the sand and eventually suffers great ruin and loss.

Friend, what sort of a builder are you—a wise or foolish builder?

You are a foolish builder if you are not building your life, home, career, business, or ministry on the Rock (the words, teachings, examples, and principles of Jesus Christ). Whatever you build on any other foundation will not withstand life’s tests, trials, or pressures.

Paul warns, “For God has already placed Jesus Christ as the one and only foundation, and no other foundation can be laid.” (1 Cor. 3:11 GNT).

As you embark on a new journey of life this New Year, it is wise to carefully examine the foundation, principle, philosophy, or doctrine upon which you are standing or building your life before the storm or flood of life blows and beats on you.

Friend, are you building your life upon the teachings of Christ or the traditions of men?

If you are not building your life upon the words or teachings of Jesus Christ, you are certainly building upon a weak, shallow, and sinking foundation.

Christ is the only sure, firm, solid, and enduring foundation on which you can build your life and escape a great fall and ruin when the storm or tempest of life comes against you.

Beloved, no matter what comes against your life, marriage, home, family, career, business, or ministry this New Year, if it is built on Jesus Christ, God’s solid and sure foundation, you will stand and not fall apart, crumble, or collapse.

Therefore, this New Year, ensure that you are grounded only in the truths of God’s Word, not in the traditions and philosophies of this world.

Be a wise builder this New Year!

Build on Jesus Christ, the Rock!

Prayer:

I choose to be a wise builder this New Year. I will learn, know, understand, obey, and live by the teachings of Jesus Christ. Help me, Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

OUR mandate is to preserve the faith of the Apostolic Generation.

YOU HAVE GOD’S LIFE IN YOU

HOME OF ARTICLES  “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:11-12 NKJV).   At the point of New Birth, the believers become the partakers of the very life of God—the everlasting life. Jesus said,  “ Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life .” (John 6:47 NKJV). John the Beloved testifies,  “ And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.   He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life . (1 John 5:11-12   NKJV). Everlasting life is not a future promise but a present reality, possession, or inheritance of the New Creation in Christ. The Life Jesus gives those who believe in Him is spiritual, divine, supernatural, heavenly, limitless, timeless, or everlasting. It is not inferior in any respect to the Life...

THE PARABLE OF THE TARES OF THE FIELD (Part 1)

HOME OF ARTICLES  “ The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.” (Matthew 13:38 NKJV)   After the Lord Jesus had privately explained the parable of the Sower to His disciples, He put forth another parable about the tares of the field to the great multitude that was gathered to Him by the sea. Matthew 13:24-30 – NKJV  24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;  25 “but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.  26 “But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.  27 “So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’  28 “He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’  29 “But he said, ...

KINGDOM LIVING

HOME OF ARTICLES  E niyekpemi Fidelis Oyinpreyebi. KINGDOM LIVING There was a challenge in how the disciples understood the presence of God to be. They had a terrible reverence for that presence. - The presence that killed Aaron’s two sons (Leviticus 10:1-2) - Uzzah died when he grabbed hold of the Ark of the covenant (2 Samuel 6:6-7) - The presence that could kill the High priest if he carnally entered the Holy of Hollies. He had to take many precautions to ensure he was ritually pure and still with a back up priest in case it all goes wrong (Exodus 28:33-35) The presence had strict protocols, living that life was a dangerous one – I believe you will agree with me too. Moses gave them very specific instructions on how to approach the mountain. They could not “come as they were” but had to sanctify themselves.  They had to wear clean clothes and abstain from sexual relations. Once they got to the mountain,  they could not contact(touch anything) or they would die. - They ...
