YOU HAVE GOD’S LIFE IN YOU

HOME OF ARTICLES

“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:11-12 NKJV).

At the point of New Birth, the believers become the partakers of the very life of God—the everlasting life. Jesus said, Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.” (John 6:47 NKJV).

John the Beloved testifies, And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:11-12 NKJV).

Everlasting life is not a future promise but a present reality, possession, or inheritance of the New Creation in Christ.

The Life Jesus gives those who believe in Him is spiritual, divine, supernatural, heavenly, limitless, timeless, or everlasting. It is not inferior in any respect to the Life God has in Himself; instead, it is the very Life of God, the same Life Christ manifested in the world (1 John 1:1-3).

The Lord Jesus amply states this truth.

John 5:21, 26 – NKJV

21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.

26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself.

Therefore, every born-again believer carries within him the very life of God (the eternal life) to live an overcoming, victorious, triumphant, successful, and prosperous life.

This is God’s invaluable treasure in the believer’s mortal body!

This is what distinguishes the believers from the unbelievers!

John 3:36 – NKJV

36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

While the unbelievers are still dead in their sins, the believers have been quickened or made alive together with Christ (Ephesians. 2:1-6).

God’s life in the believers transmits or imparts God’s consciousness, knowledge, or understanding to the believers. Eternal life is the spiritual capacity to know God intimately!

The Lord Jesus explains, And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3 NKJV).

Apostle John also testifies, And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20 NKJV).

Every born-again believer has an inherent spiritual capacity to hear, know, discern, or understand God’s voice. The Lord Jesus affirms, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27 NKJV).

Only those with God’s life can enjoy intimacy with God. The unbelievers who are still dead in their sins and trespasses cannot enjoy or experience an intimate and loving relationship with God because they have no life of God in them.

What does God expect the believers to do with His Life in them?

First, God wants the born-again believers to rejoice and glory always in the life He has given them.

Nothing in this world can compare with having eternal life, thereby knowing God intimately and enjoying a loving and lasting relationship with God through Christ Jesus.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 – NKJV

 23 Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;

24 But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the LORD.

Eternal life (knowing God intimately) is the most invaluable treasure in this world. You will constantly rejoice and glory in God regardless of your circumstances if you truly know God intimately and know that you have within you the overcoming, triumphant, or victorious life of God.

Second, God wants you to constantly reveal, express, or manifest His Life’s beauty in you so the world may glorify God.

The Lord Jesus commands you to Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matt. 5:16 NKJV).

The life of God is the light of men!

John reveals, In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” (John 1:4 NKJV).

Therefore, anyone without the life of God in him has no light in him; he is walking in darkness. The born-again believers are the light of the world because of the life of God in them (Matt. 5:14-16).

As a believer carrying the life of God in you, you are expected to give light to the world. How?

You should no longer think, speak, or walk as the unbelievers or unregenerate people with no life of God. Your speech, conduct, or lifestyle should express God’s nature or character to the unbelievers.

1 Peter 2:11-12 – NKJV

11 Beloved, I beg you, as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,

12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Philippians 2:14-15 – NKJV

14 Do all things without complaining and disputing,

15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.

What have you been doing with God’s Life in you?

God does not want His life hidden in you. Instead, God wants you to express, show, or manifest His Life in you by living a holy, upright, triumphant, overcoming, victorious, successful, prosperous, and fulfilled life that He has thoroughly equipped and destined you to live in this world.

The Scripture states that God desires to show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians. 2:7 NKJV).

Beloved, God has chosen you for the praise of His glory in the world. Therefore, begin to rejoice and glory in the gift of eternal life that Christ has given you, and begin to declare God’s praise and bring glory to God by expressing your eternal life to the world.

1 Peter 2:9 – NKJV

9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Prayer:

Dear Holy Spirit, teach and help me daily to bring glory to God by showing forth His Life’s beauty in me to the world, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Our mandate is to preserve the faith of the Apostolic Generation.

Did Moses Command Divorce? (Deuteronomy 24:1-4)

Menu Home ▶   ▶   Did Moses Command Divorce? (Deuteronomy 24:1-4)   ENIYEKPEMI FIDELIS, Dr.... In answer to the question posed by the Pharisees regarding divorce (“Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?”), Jesus directed their attention to two Old Testament verses that provided the proper answer Genesis 1:27 and Genesis 2:24. He then provided His own divine commentary on the two verses: “So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate” (Matthew 19:6). Observe carefully: humans have no right to separate what God Himself has joined together, unless He gives His approval to do so. Hence, wholesale, carte blanche divorce is not sanctioned by God. This view of divorce coincides with God’s true attitude toward divorce in His forthright declaration through the prophet Malachi: “For the LORD God of Israel says that He hates divorce” (2:16). Before Jesus could complete His response as ...

WHAT CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP IS NOT (Part 2)

HOME OF ARTICLES  “ Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19 NKJV)   The word “ disciples”  appears in the New Testament 269 times, and the word “believers” or “believer” appears only four times (Acts 5:14, 1 Tim. 4:12, 6:2, 2 Cor. 6:15). That suggests that the Church’s purpose, calling, and mission is not to make “believers” of the people but to make them “disciples” of Christ . It also shows the difference between being a mere believer and a disciple of Christ. In Part 1 of this piece, we began to examine what many people have mistaken as true Christian Discipleship but which is not. First, Discipleship is not the New Birth Experience While the New Birth Experience is an instant spiritual experience, Discipleship is a lifelong spiritual journey or progressive transformation into Christlikeness in every aspect.  Discipleship is not a one-time but a lifeti...
